Behavioral Support

For Our Residents
Many of the dogs that come to HSHA bring with them challenging behaviors that may impede adoption.  Because HSHA believes that every animal deserves a chance, we have implemented our Behavioral Care Program to address and correct these behaviors.  Our behavior team works one-on-one with these dogs, and many of them go on to be successful adoptees in loving new homes.

For Pet Owners
Some pet owners experience challenging behaviors in their pets and may even consider giving their pet up to the Humane Society as a result.  Before turning to this option, consider contacting us for guidance on possible solutions to the problem.

For behavioral advice, please use the form below.
Please note: HSHA receives many behavioral inquiries, and we may not be able to respond immediately.  However, you will receive a response in no longer than one week.
