Scrappy with his big brother Buddy
I came into the shelter as I usually do once a month and drop off donations and check out the dogs for adoption. I was interested in a small dog that had the same energetic personality as me. In August 2012, I happen to run into Carla at the shelter, one of the volunteers who was fostering a four month old Jackahuahua that was dropped off at the kennel because he had a broken leg and they couldn’t afford the surgery. Carla nursed him back to health and took incredible care of him. He was ready for adoption and I was thrilled. We have a German shorthair pointer who is 6 and was getting increasingly upset when left alone, I was sure a playmate would help him with his anxiety.
My husband was convinced that two dogs would be too much, but he was so wrong. Buddy Bob and Scrappy Do are BFFs; buddy no longer has anxiety instead he has a buddy to play with, sleep with and at times gets to boss him around (not too often) They are wonderful with each other and they bring us joy, laughter and a great deal of love. Thank you for all you do for these animals. All of you are truly God’s treasures.
We are currently in need of soft training treats (made in USA), Busy Bones, sensitive stomach cat food, peanut butter, unscented bleach, liquid laundry detergent, Dawn dishwashing detergent, Clorox wipes, waterless shampoo, kitten milk replacer, and paper towels. If you'd like to help out, please drop some off at the shelter!

We have several dogs and cats that are looking for a foster home. If you think you may be able to help, please visit our Fosters Needed page.
