Pet Bereavement

Welcome to the Healing Haven of HSHA

At the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, we know the special bond that people have with their pets. We understand that the loss of a pet can be one of the most devastating experiences that one you face. It is natural and necessary to grieve when a pet dies, just as you would when any loved one dies. We are here to help with our Healing Haven of HSHA Support Program.  Below you will find resources to assist you and your loved ones during this difficult time.

How Can I Help Homeless Animals in My Community Today?

Currently our greatest need is canned food for both dogs and cats! Our cats prefer pate but the pups aren't picky! In addition, we could use some Clorox Wipes to help maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment for all the sheter's residents.

Check out HSHA's Amazon Wish List for more specific needs.

We have several dogs and cats that are looking for a foster home.  If you think you may be able to help, please visit our Fosters Needed page.
