Veterinary Resource Center

Services We Offer

The Veterinary Resource Center at the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area is open to pets in our service area of Dauphin, Cumberland and Perry Counties. The Center was created to provide affordable and accessible veterinary care to those who cannot afford veterinary care at a privately owned veterinary hospital.  The fees and service costs are intentionally kept as low as possible to allow care for pet owners on limited and fixed incomes. Services include illness assessment and treatment options, diagnostic capabilities, dental and surgical services, and x-rays. We offer transportation assistance in select areas throughout our service area.

The Veterinary Resource Center is not an emergency clinic. We are not staffed evenings or weekends. If your pet is experiencing a medical emergency please do not email or leave a voicemail. Instead, please contact the closest emergency veterinary hospital. The closest emergency veterinary hospitals to HSHA are: Shores Veterinary Emergency Center, 717.798.5000 or Hershey Animal Emergency Center at (717) 298-7883.
